EAC certification

ÖEAC statementit is atEAC certificateof Conformity are documents that were first introduced in 2011 as a result of the creation of the Technical Regulations TR CU of the Eurasian Economic Union (Evrases). OEAC certifications are issued by independent EAC certification bodies and their laboratories accredited by the competent authorities of the five members of the EAC Economic Union: Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan.

EAC Certification Centers

According to the Technical Regulations of the Customs Union (TR CU), EAC certification bodies assess the conformity of certain products with the relevant TR CU regulations. The quality assessment, followed by the granting of the required EAC certification, gives access to the markets of the 5 members of the EAC certification system. The legislation does not discriminate between goods manufactured inside or outside the EAC certification area. However, the formal application for the document requires the presence of a registered agent in one of the three member countries. In addition, it is necessary for one or more samples of the product to be certified to itself enter the territory of one of the EAC members in order to obtain certification.

The EAC declaration and the certificate of conformity confirm the strong commitment of the members of the Eurasian Economic Union to the unified project. Above all, it shows the determination of the Russian leadership, which, contrary to the expectations of international critics, was able to embark on a close economic union between Kazakhstan and Belarus and later Armenia and Kyrgyzstan. The development of the Eurasian Customs Union is progressing rapidly, not only in the field of quality assessment and technical regulations of the TR CU.

Procedures for issuing EAC certifications

In order for the required compliance documents to be issued, it is necessary to provide a set of documents to be added to the product file. This document package differs depending on whether it is aEAC Declaration of Conformityor oneEAC Certificate of Conformity.

Another variable with regard to the required documentation is the chosen certification body. Both EAC certifications are not issued by governmental institutions or authorities, but the assessment and issuance are delegated to private laboratories accredited to one of the five governmental bodies (Russian, Belarusian, Armenian, Kyrgyz and Kazakh) for the overview of certification bodies. This differentiation is also perceived during the certification processes, although in the end the same result is achieved. For customers, this means big differences in prices, deadlines and procedures.

In general, however, the TR CU certificate (according to the Customs Union technical regulation, interchangeable with the EAC reference that appears in the standard marking) requires more time, higher costs, much more extensive documentation and inspections of the production facilities compared to the TR CU declaration and the presence of an ISO certificate.
